Week 24: Puppet
This week's prompt had me stummped for a long time. Then it hit. I am the "Puppet" and the "Fear Puppet Masters" - Breast Cancer and COVID-19 are pulling strings - but my God is greater. He is the "Breaker of Strings" , mightier than those diseases. Conqueror of Fear and Darkness, Bringer of Light and Healing My Future-Holder.
In June 2020, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer. This was how I felt returning from the doctors office that afternoon. We all have this COVID19 Fear “Puppet Master” pulling on us. Now I have the Cancer Fear “Puppet Master “ pulling in another direction. What’s not in this picture is the “Scissors” that my God wields , cutting all those strings. My times are in His hands.
I trust in you, O God, My Lord. I say you are my God. My times are in Your hands. - Psalm 31:14-15
Holy Wisdom, Mother God, you hold my time in your hands. Your providence guides the stars and my cells. Your compassion opens my heart to healing in the midst of pain. Help me rest in you, trusting the future in your care and giving comfort to those in need, who mourn, hurt, and face personal challenges. In Christ's Name, Amen.
