Inktober 2019 - Created by Jake Parker

Somehow I came across this great and fantastic site called Inktober and decided to join. Received the list in mid-September, so I had time to think things out a bit. This year, trees have been my focus for much of my artwork, so it seems fitting to use trees as my Inktober theme - meaning that trees will be in every one of my drawings.

I'm anxious to start... new Micron pens, new black and a white ink pad. Dug out my pens and brushes, a few stamps and more tools and now i'm ready to begin this adventure. I plan on learning a lot and look to see improvement in my work. There's 31 Days :   Days 1-10 below.

DAY 1: THE RING

DAY 2: MINDLESS

My goal was to use each of the daily prompts with trees. A tree with its head on fire is Mindless.

DAY 3: BAIT

This one I almost forgot that I hadn’t finished earlier!

DAY 4: FREEZE

Image: "Freeze" - Tree branch frozen

Got it done early!

DAY 5: BUILD

Today’s project is BUILD! I built a tree house!

DAY 6: HUSKY

Image: "Husky" - curvy topiary ala Mae West

The word is Husky. Like Mae Wests’ voice... hence a topiary tree! Hahaha!

DAY 7: ENCHANTED

My Day 7 INKTOBER project is Enchanted.

DAY 8: FRAIL

A tiny bit late but... oh well! Day 8 Frail... my little Charlie Brown tree

DAY 9: SWING

Image: "Swing" Girl on tree swing

Day 9 in my INKTOBER 2019 daily inklings. I’m reminded of a swing I had at our “Old House” on Grand Avenue when I was 4 years old. And everyone knows I like bubbles... so this was fun!

DAY 10: PATTERN

Image: "Pattern" Christmas Tree quilt pattern

Today is Day 10 and the prompt is Pattern. This is a quilt square from a Christmas Quilt that belonged to my Mom. The tree was different Holiday prints of green fabric stitched over cream fabric with colored stars. The holly berries were red as were the Buffalo plaid corners. The Star was a golden yellow. Green fabric border.
