Week 3 - Occult 11/18-11/22
I don't do scary things. So this is a drawing of the Three Gulls dressed as witches for Halloween. In their imaginations... they are casting spells on the caldron of bubbling, boiling 'potion'. The reality... Mom has slaved over the stove all day making popcorn. The 'potion' is actually the caramelized syrup that will be poured over the popped corn and then be made into popcorn balls. It's what we're handing out for our treats.
Week 4 - Moustache 11/23-12/02
All the men in our family wear a moustache. Moustaches and their styles define the man. One can be a hero, a spy, a detective, an evil villain, a cartoon character, Everyman, Daddy, and Grandpa... even Santa...
Week 5 - Gadget 12/03-12/09
I drew a picture of my cell phone while looking at my kitchen. All the gadgets!. .. Thinking of my ancestors who immigrated from Bavaria to Dakota Territory inthe 1870's, They didn't have the luxury of gadgets like running water and flush toilets, let alone the ability to launch a rocket into space with my cell phone.
Week 6 - Pastries 12/08-12/16
"Pie Pie! My, Oh my, do I love pie!" we all sing...
Week 7 - Peace 12/17-12/23
Christmas morning - Playing with our new toys, trying to beat Dad at any board game, Mom sitting in her rocking chair , coffee cup in hand, Christmas music softly playing on the stereo. A Three Gulls Christmas - Memories and traditions being created.
Week 8: Festive 12/24 - 12/30
Festive = Fireworks in our family. And not just 4th of July, but birthdays, Christmas and New Year's too. Uncle "Boom" lights off the fireworks and the rest of us sit back and take delight
