DAY 11: SNOW

Image: "Snow" Girl playing in snow on side of woods

Today’s prompt is Snow. Taking a trip in the Wayback Machine to capture Michelle’s first experience with snow. We’d driven for hours to only find patches of unmelted snow beside the road in the mountains. December 1969.

DAY 12: DRAGON

Image: "Dragon" Dragon breathing fire while sitting on a tree limb

OKOKOKOK!!! I should have had my grandson Andrew give me some drawing lessons on dragons... this one is sitting in a tree, throwing flames like a rebellious teenager... Can you find my music note signature?

DAY 13: ASH

Image: "Ash" Burnt forest

Today’s topic is Ash. Thinking of friends out in SoCal close to the Saddleridge Fire. Be safe my friends!

This was my first time using white ink to mute the black, white and gray spaces and create a smokey effect.

DAY 14: OVERGROWN

Image: "Overgrown" Wisteria vines overgrowing a willow tree

Wisteria vine completely taking over a willow tree. I soooo much want to add a pop of color, but I’m committed to the black and white, grey scale. But perhaps afterwards... I’ll either re-do or add color.

DAY 15: LEGEND

Image: "Legend" VW Bus driving underneath Redwood "Chandelier" tree in the Underwood Park

This is a legendary redwood tree in Northern California that at one time you could drive through. The “Three Gulls and Twerp” (my siblings and I) would remember a family vacation in our black over red - VW Bus going through Yosemite.

DAY 16: WILD

Image: "Wild" ZenTangle Tree

This Zen Tangle was crazy long... “Wild”

DAY 17: ORNAMENT

Image: "Ornament" Oblong Glass Christmas Tree Ornament

Today’s prompt is Ornament. This is an ornament that I bought for my Christmas tree in 1965. It’s a silver drop. Its a reminder of my daughter Patty. I always hang it on my tree, every year. Rest with Jesus my sweet daughter - 1966-2006.

DAY 18: MISFIT

Image: "Misfit" Douglas fir surrounded by hardwood trees

I told Michelle my plan for this day, way back at the first of the month... last week she sends me a cartoon, where all the trees say, ”Let’s shed our leaves and get naked!” The next frame shows them all shaking their leaves off. The third frame ... ”Douglas!!!”

DAY 19: SLING

Image: "Sling" Man swinging in hammock across two decorative persimmon trees

I’m a few days behind because RealLife gets in the way... but this is a picture of my husband Larry, in the orange orchard at Harmony Hill where we once lived in Texas, taking a break from livestock and orchard maintenance.

DAY 20: TREAD

Image: "Tread" Various Tree bark "tread"

Zooming right along trying to catch up... this is “Tread”. And keeping with my tree theme... tree bark is as individual as tire treads. These are just a few of the trees in our area. Of course, the persimmon is in our back yard as is the maple.
